This solid mahogany Governor Winthrop Secretaire writing desk is a new reproduction of a style that began with the first governor of Massachusetts in 1680. The drop front opens to a classic pigeon hole organizer with drawers for stamps and stationery. The pillared column corner pilasters flow into the bracket feet with acanthus leaf carvings. The solid mahogany drawers are hand dove tail joints with solid brass hardware. This governor Winthrop secretaire writing desk is finished in a rich antique brown stain and the wood used is solid mahogany. |
