This solid mahogany Florentine style doll / child chair is a new reproduction of a style made popular in Italy. This chair is large enough for a child to sit in, versus a sampler chair, which is not. Renaissance style in art, exemplified in works from Florentine artists, flourished largely because of the patronage, or financial support, of wealthy citizens and the church. The pierce carved back flows to the carved arms and also to the cabriole legs with acanthus leaf and flower carvings finishing with Flemish feet. This Florentine style doll / child chair is upholstered in a diamond patterned green fabric. The finish is antique brown mahogany stain and the wood used is solid mahogany. |
