This solid mahogany ball and claw serving
table is a new reproduction of a style made popular by Thomas Chippendale. His
furniture, known as the Chippendale style, represents one of the outstanding examples of the Georgian period. The carving is crisp, deep, precise and shows excellent craftsmanship. The gadroon or rope border follows the apron to the acanthus carved knees of the cabriole legs, finishing with ball and claw feet. The finish is a warm nutty brown mahogany stain, hand rubbed, satin smooth. This Chippendale serving table is finished in a rich antique brown stain and the wood used is solid mahogany. |
