This Regency style upholstered rocking chair is a
new reproduction of a style made popular during the reign of King George. George
III died in 1820 and Prinny ascended to the throne as George IV. He reigned only
10 years; upon his death in 1830. The curlicue design with scroll arms, seat,
and back is accented by the spider web corners. The wooden frame is curved in a
serpentine shape for maximum comfort and covered with a blue stripe against a
multi colored tapestry stripe cushion, typical of the period. This upholstered
rocking chair is finished is rich antique brown stain and the wood used is solid
mahogany. |
