This solid mahogany corner curio cabinet is a new reproduction of a style made popular during the Georgian period. A vibrant culture of style survived largely intact throughout the later Georgian era. This culture, it is convincingly demonstrated, comprised a complex mix of both the old and the new in which many traditional styles were to become dominant in the course of the subsequent Victorian age. The single upper door is filled with individual panes of beveled glass panels, surrounded by raised latticework. The upper crown moulding is decorated with dental frieze motif. The pilasters are decorated with carved columns and acanthus leaf crowns. The raised panel solid mahogany door is decorated with clamshell corner motif and opens to reveal an open cupboard storage space. This Georgian Style Corner Curio Cabinet is finished is rich antique brown stain and the wood used is solid mahogany. |
