Canadian Diabetes Association

Clothesline® is the new name for the Canadian Diabetes Association's collection program. In 2004, the program diverted more than 40 million kilograms from landfill sites across Canada. Items accepted for collection include clothing, linens, dishes, toys, furniture* as well as knick-knacks. Contact Clothesline at 1-800-505-5525. Salvation Army Thrift Stores

The Salvation Army operates Thrift Stores across Canada. These outlets accepts all sorts of household items including furniture for resale at discount prices. Visit their website for the closest location near you and whether pick-up service is available.

Goodwill

Goodwill operates retail outlets across Canada. These outlets accepts all sorts of household items in saleable condition for resale at discount prices. This concept diverts items that would normally go to landfills and allows us to re-use and reduce our garbage build-up. United Way

United Way Toronto offers a gifts-in-kind program where you can donate items, including furniture, and receive a tax receipt. Restrictions apply. Please contact Grace Tay at United Way Toronto at 416-359-2063 for complete details.

The City of Toronto has a program to pick up large appliances such as your refridgerator, stoves, washers, dryers, and other large appliances. Call: 416-338-2010.

Donate to the Furniture Bank

The Furniture Bank will pick up your furniture for a fee and donate it to needy families in the GTA.
